FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Questions, Our Answers

HOW DOES THE BOOKING AND PAYMENT PROCESS WORK?

The booking is confirmed once the Short-Term Accommodation Agreement has been signed and a deposit of 30% of the total stay price has been paid.

The deposit is paid by bank transfer to the host's bank account. The remaining 70% of the total stay price must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival, or by the date stated in the agreement or booking confirmation.

DO I NEED TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WHEN BOOKING?

Yes. For every direct booking, we send a Short-Term Accommodation Agreement containing the dates of your stay, the price, payment terms, cancellation conditions and other important information.

The booking is confirmed once the agreement has been signed and the reservation deposit has been received.

WHEN IS THE BOOKING OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED?

The booking is officially confirmed once the Short-Term Accommodation Agreement has been signed and the 30% reservation deposit has been credited to the host's bank account.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY STAY?

30% deposit is paid when booking. The remaining 70% of the total stay price must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival, or by the date stated in the booking confirmation.

ARE UTILITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

For short-term holiday stays, the price includes water, electricity and Wi-Fi. Final cleaning is charged separately.

For stays longer than 28 days, energy consumption is charged separately according to actual usage.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your stay, the refund of your paid deposit is subject to the following cancellation conditions:

✔ More than 30 days before arrival – we refund 100% of the paid deposit.

✔ 21–30 days before arrival – we refund 50% of the paid deposit.

✔ Less than 21 days before arrival – the paid deposit is non-refundable.

The cancellation period is calculated from the date on which we receive your cancellation notice.

WE RECOMMEND TRAVEL CANCELLATION INSURANCE

For greater peace of mind before your holiday, we recommend taking out travel insurance with cancellation cover. If you are unable to travel for a serious reason, the insurance may cover costs such as flights or accommodation, depending on the specific terms and conditions of your insurance provider.

The level of cover, accepted reasons for cancellation and the amount of any reimbursement may vary between insurance companies, so we recommend checking the policy conditions carefully before purchasing insurance.

IS A SECURITY DEPOSIT REQUIRED?

Before arrival, a refundable security deposit of CZK 5,000 must be paid by bank transfer to the host's bank account. The deposit is not an additional accommodation fee – it serves only as security in case of damage to the apartment or its equipment, or loss of any items, such as keys, towels, bed linen or kitchen equipment.

We understand that accidents can happen and something may be unintentionally damaged during your stay. If this happens, please let us know as soon as possible. We deal with each situation individually and always try to find a reasonable solution.

If the apartment is returned without damage and all equipment is complete, the deposit will be refunded in full to the guest's bank account within 2 business days after the end of the stay.

If damage occurs, an amount corresponding to the cost of repair or replacement of damaged or missing items may be deducted from the deposit. If the amount of the damage exceeds the security deposit, the guest is responsible for paying the remaining difference.

In cases of suspected intentional damage, theft of equipment or other unlawful conduct, we reserve the right to report the matter to the relevant authorities and to recover the resulting damage in accordance with applicable law.

WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED ABOUT THE GUESTS?

No later than 48 hours before arrival, you must send us a completed and signed Guest List – Appendix No. 2 to the Short-Term Accommodation Agreement.

For each guest, the following information is required: full name, date of birth, nationality and ID card or passport number. A signature is required only for guests aged 18 and over.

Only guests listed on this form may stay in the apartment, and the apartment's maximum occupancy must not be exceeded. Any change in the number or composition of guests must be reported in advance and approved by the host.

Exceeding the permitted number of guests or accommodating unregistered persons is considered a serious breach of the accommodation conditions and may result in immediate termination of the stay without a refund.

Access details for the key box or smart lock are sent once the payment conditions have been met and the completed Guest List has been received.

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN STAY IN THE APARTMENT?

Each apartment is normally suitable for a maximum of 6 guests. A higher number of guests is only possible with prior agreement and the host's explicit approval.

CAN ADDITIONAL GUESTS STAY OVERNIGHT IN THE APARTMENT?

Not without the host's prior approval. Only guests listed in the booking may stay in the apartment.

If the apartment is occupied by more guests than permitted, or by persons who were not reported in advance, this is considered a serious breach of the accommodation conditions. In such a case, the host may terminate the stay without refunding any amount already paid.

IS BABY AND TODDLER EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE?

On request, we can prepare a travel cot including a mattress and bed linen for CZK 100 per night. Please request it in advance when making your booking.

A high chair, children's step stool, potty and toilet seat are part of the apartment equipment and can be used during your stay at no additional charge.

HOW DO CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT WORK?

Check-in:
from 3:00 PM

Check-out:
no later than 11:00 AM

The apartment is accessed contactlessly via a secure key box or a smart lock with a code. Access details are usually sent approximately 24 hours before arrival, once all booking conditions have been met.

Please respect the stated check-in and check-out times. Between stays, we need enough time for thorough cleaning, checking the apartment and preparing it for the next guests.

If no new guests are arriving immediately after your departure, we may be able to arrange temporary luggage storage by prior agreement. This option is not automatic and depends on the current occupancy of the apartment.

This may allow you to enjoy a final swim, have lunch or do some last-minute shopping before travelling home.

Late check-out is possible only by prior agreement. Cleaning usually begins shortly after check-out, so the apartment must be fully vacated by 11:00 AM. We need enough time to clean and prepare the apartment for the next guests, who may be arriving later the same day.

HOW DO I COLLECT THE KEYS OR ACCESS THE APARTMENT?

Access to the apartment is contactless. Before arrival, you will receive all necessary instructions, including either the code for the key box or the access code for the smart lock, depending on the apartment.

Access details are sent before arrival once all booking conditions have been met.

IS LATE-NIGHT ARRIVAL POSSIBLE?

Yes. Thanks to contactless access, you can arrive later in the evening or at night. Please let us know your approximate arrival time in advance so we know when to expect you.

If you arrive late in the evening or during the night, please be considerate of the other residents in the building and keep noise to a minimum when entering, carrying your luggage and settling into the apartment..

CAN I STORE MY LUGGAGE AFTER CHECK-OUT?

Only if the apartment is not being prepared for new guests on the same day and this has been agreed with the host in advance.

If new guests are arriving after your departure, the apartment must be fully vacated at check-out so that the cleaning team can begin cleaning and preparing it for the next stay on time.

CAN YOU ARRANGE AN AIRPORT TRANSFER?

If you are planning to use a car during your stay, hiring one directly at the airport can be a convenient option. It also makes your return journey easier, especially if your flight departs late at night or early in the morning.

If the rental office is closed when you return the car, some companies allow you to leave the keys in a designated key box. Always check the return procedure with your chosen rental company in advance.

We strongly recommend checking the car carefully and taking photos or a video before driving away, including any existing damage.

Based on our own experience, we can recommend ARA Rent a Car. They offer rentals without a security deposit or credit card requirement. Their red desk is located close to the main entrance of the airport terminal. Child car seats are also available on request.

Our guests can receive a 10% discount on car hire using a special discount code, which we will provide after booking.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE APARTMENTS?

At Rehati Apartment, a private parking space is available free of charge directly by the building, so you do not need to look for parking nearby when arriving with your own or a rental car.

Pushim Apartment does not have a private parking space. However, parking is generally available on the street nearby or in the parking area behind the building, even during the summer season.

HOW FAR ARE THE APARTMENTS FROM THE BEACH?

Rehati Apartment is approximately 200 metres from the beach, just a few minutes' walk away. Pushim Apartment is around 350 metres from the sea.

The beach in Golem is mainly sandy, with a gently shelving entrance into the sea, making it suitable for families with children. Along the seafront, you will find sun loungers and umbrellas, restaurants, bars, cafés and a promenade, so you can spend most of the day by the sea without needing to drive anywhere.

Because both apartments are so close to the beach, you can easily return during the day to pick something up, take a break or change clothes, and be back by the sea within just a few minutes.

At Rehati Apartment, the lift is operated using a chip, which you will receive together with the keys. Before arrival, we will send you simple instructions on how to use it. Please take care of the chip, as it is part of the apartment equipment and must be returned with the keys at check-out.

At Pushim Apartment, the lift can be used normally without a chip.

ARE THERE SHOPS, BAKERIES AND RESTAURANTS NEARBY?

Rehati Apartment
Yes. Within just a few minutes' walk, you will find restaurants, cafés, bakeries and supermarkets. Nearby shops include Conad, SPAR and Big Market, and the seafront promenade with additional restaurants and bars is also within easy walking distance.

Pushim Apartment
Everything is conveniently close by. A SPAR supermarket is located directly on the ground floor of the building, and there is a bakery just opposite. You will also find restaurants, cafés, smaller shops and other services nearby, so you can easily take care of everyday shopping and meals without needing a car.

DO I NEED A CAR IN GOLEM?

If you are mainly planning a seaside holiday, you do not need a car in Golem. The beach, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, supermarkets and promenade are all within walking distance of both apartments.

You can also travel to Durrës without a car, as there is a local bus service between Golem and the city. For a typical beach holiday, you can therefore manage comfortably without your own vehicle.

A car is most useful if you would like to explore more of Albania and take day trips to places such as Berat, Krujë, Divjakë–Karavasta National Park or other parts of the country.

If needed, we can also help our guests arrange car hire.

IS AIR CONDITIONING AVAILABLE IN THE APARTMENT?

Yes. Air conditioning is available in every room in both apartments, so you can keep the apartment comfortable during hot summer days.

Please use the air conditioning only with the windows and balcony doors closed, as it is ineffective when they are left open. For safety reasons, always switch off the air conditioning when leaving the apartment.

WHAT IF SOMETHING BREAKS OR STOPS WORKING DURING MY STAY?

Even with careful maintenance, an unexpected issue may occasionally arise during your stay, such as a problem with the air conditioning, water heater, an appliance or other equipment. If this happens, please contact us as soon as possible.

We have local maintenance support available and will always do our best to resolve any issue as quickly as possible so that it causes minimal disruption to your stay. For safety reasons, please do not attempt to repair technical faults yourself..

WHAT IF I DAMAGE SOMETHING DURING MY STAY?

We understand that accidents can happen and something may be unintentionally broken or damaged. If this happens, please contact us as soon as possible and let us know what happened.

We deal with each situation individually and always try to find a reasonable solution. Any repair or replacement costs may be deducted from the refundable security deposit. If the cost of the damage exceeds the amount of the deposit, the guest is responsible for paying the difference based on a documented repair invoice.

WHAT IF I LOSE THE APARTMENT KEYS OR THE LIFT ACCESS CHIP?

If the apartment keys are lost, the lock must be replaced and new keys issued for security reasons. The cost of this replacement is €100 and will be deducted from the refundable security deposit.

A fee of €15 is charged for the loss of the lift access chip, which is attached to the key set.

If you lose the keys or access chip, please contact the host as soon as possible so that a replacement solution can be arranged.

IS SMOKING OR VAPING ALLOWED??

No. Smoking, vaping and the use of open flames are strictly prohibited inside the apartment.

Please respect this rule throughout your stay. It helps protect the apartment and its furnishings, reduces the risk of fire and ensures a clean and comfortable environment for future guests.

ARE THERE QUIET HOURS IN THE BUILDING?

Yes. Quiet hours are from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

The apartments are located in residential buildings, so please be considerate of the neighbours, especially late in the evening and at night. Please also keep noise to a minimum when playing music, talking on the balcony or arriving back late.

ARE PARTIES AND CELEBRATIONS ALLOWED?

No. The apartments are intended for holiday accommodation, and parties, loud celebrations or other events are not permitted.

Please respect the other residents of the building and observe the quiet hours. Repeated disturbance of neighbours or failure to follow these rules will be considered a serious breach of the accommodation conditions and may result in immediate termination of the stay without a refund.

CAN I CHARGE AN E-BIKE OR E-SCOOTER IN THE APARTMENT?

No. For safety reasons, charging e-bikes, e-scooters or other large battery-powered transport devices inside the apartment is strictly prohibited.

Please observe this rule throughout your stay, as charging these devices may increase the risk of fire or damage to the property.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE LEAVING THE APARTMENT?

Whenever you leave the apartment, please close all windows and balcony doors, switch off the air conditioning and lights, check the appliances, and make sure the entrance door is locked.

During strong winds, rain or other adverse weather conditions, do not leave any windows or balcony doors open. If the apartment or its equipment is damaged as a result of them being left open, the guest will be responsible for the damage and for covering the cost of any necessary repair or replacement.

WHERE SHOULD I DISPOSE OF RUBBISH?

Please dispose of rubbish regularly in the designated bins provided for the building and surrounding area.

Waste separation is not as widely established in Albania as it is in many EU countries. In our area, general household waste is usually disposed of together in the designated communal bins.

We will provide you with exact information on where the bins are located together with the other practical instructions for the apartment.

ARE A SWIMMING POOL OR WATER PARK INCLUDED WITH THE ACCOMMODATION?

No. Our apartments do not have a private swimming pool or water park, and access to these facilities is not included in the accommodation price.

In Albania, however, it is quite common to be able to use hotel swimming pools for a fee even if you are not staying at that hotel. There are several hotels with pools and water parks near our apartments, so you can easily choose between a relaxing swim or more family-friendly water activities.

We are happy to recommend some of the best swimming pools and water parks near Rehati and Pushim Apartments.

WHAT IF THERE IS A POWER, WATER OR INTERNET OUTAGE?

Occasionally, there may be a temporary interruption to the electricity, water supply or internet connection caused by the local service provider rather than by a fault in the apartment.

If this happens, please contact us. We will check the situation and, where possible, arrange the quickest available solution or provide you with the latest information.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO WORK REMOTELY FROM THE APARTMENT?

Yes. Both apartments have Wi-Fi and enough space to work comfortably on a laptop during your stay.

The internet connection is generally suitable for everyday work, emails and video calls. However, speed and stability cannot be guaranteed at all times, as they may be affected by network congestion or occasional local service interruptions.

Tap water can be used without any problems for everyday hygiene, showering and cleaning.

During the summer season, a medical centre with doctors is open within walking distance of the apartments and can be contacted if needed.

There is also a nearby pharmacy where staff can advise you on common health concerns and recommend an appropriate over-the-counter treatment. If further assistance is required, emergency medical services can also be called.

We recommend having valid travel insurance and keeping your insurer's contact details with you in case you need medical treatment during your stay.

CAN WE CONTACT YOU DURING OUR STAY?

Yes. We are available before your arrival and throughout your stay.

If you need advice, have a question about your stay in Golem, or need help with an issue in the apartment, please feel free to contact us. If a technical problem occurs, we also have local support and maintenance assistance available.

HOW DO YOU PAY IN ALBANIA – BY CARD, IN LEK OR IN EUROS?

The official currency is the Albanian lek (ALL). In tourist areas, euros are also commonly accepted, although you may receive your change in lek.

Cash is still widely used in Albania, so we recommend carrying some local currency with you. Card payments are also common in larger supermarkets, restaurants and many other businesses.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AT CHECK-OUT?

Check-out is no later than 11:00 AM. By this time, the apartment must be fully vacated, as the cleaning team usually arrives shortly afterwards to prepare the apartment for the next guests.

Before leaving, please close all windows and balcony doors, switch off the air conditioning and lights, check the appliances, and make sure the entrance door is properly locked.

Please return the keys and, where applicable, the lift access chip according to the instructions provided before departure.

If you require a later check-out or would like to leave your luggage temporarily, this must always be arranged in advance. Availability depends on whether new guests are arriving later the same day.
