Tirana Airport is approximately a 45-minute drive from Golem. The journey time depends mainly on traffic, which can be considerably heavier during the peak summer season. You can choose from a pre-booked transfer, airport taxi, bus or rental car.

Transfer Directly to the Apartment

The most convenient option is a pre-booked transfer. The driver will meet you after your arrival and take you directly to your accommodation, so you will not need to look for a bus stop or manage transfers with your luggage.

Upon prior arrangement, we can organise a transfer with driver for guests staying at Rehati Apartment. The price for a one-way journey between the airport and the apartment is €40. Payment is made directly to the driver in cash.

We particularly recommend a transfer for families with children, guests travelling with a larger amount of luggage and those arriving in the evening or at night.

Taxi from the Airport

Official airport taxis are available 24 hours a day. Licensed yellow taxis wait directly outside the terminal at Tirana Airport and are marked with the airport logo.

It is a good idea to agree on the price of the journey to Golem with the driver in advance. During the main season, expect to pay approximately €40–€60. You can also book a taxi before your arrival or choose from the transport services available at the airport.

By Bus via Durrës

Travelling by bus is also possible, although there is no direct connection all the way to Golem. From the airport, you first need to travel to the main bus station in Durrës and then continue by local bus to Golem.

The official airport bus to Durrës costs 600 ALL per person. From Durrës to Golem, you can continue using a local bus, with a fare of approximately 100 ALL per person.

This is the cheapest option, but it may be less convenient when travelling with children or a lot of luggage. You should also allow time for waiting for the connecting bus and moving between stops.

Renting a Car at the Airport

Several international and local car rental companies operate at the airport. Renting a car is particularly worthwhile if you plan to take several trips during your holiday and explore Albania at your own pace.

During the peak season, it is advisable to book your car in advance. Before collecting the vehicle, carefully check the insurance conditions, deposit amount and any additional charges for a child car seat. We can recommend ARA, whose desk is located near the entrance to the airport terminal. Enter the code "Češi v Durrës" when booking to receive a 10% discount. Guests staying at Rehati Apartment have access to free private parking directly by the building.

Which Option Should You Choose?

For families, late arrivals and a comfortable journey without transfers, a pre-booked private transfer is the best option. The bus is suitable for travellers with less luggage who primarily want to save money. A rental car is ideal for guests planning to take several trips.
